We’re now looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Takanini-based team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical engineering, thrives in a fabrication environment, and takes ownership from concept through to install.

About the Role

This is a hands-on, end-to-end design role where your work directly translates into manufactured outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

• Producing high-quality SolidWorks models, assemblies, and detailed fabrication drawings
• Designing with a strong Design for Manufacture (DFM) approach
• Applying sheet metal and fabrication expertise in real-world scenarios
• Supporting tenders, pricing, and technical solutions
• Taking ownership of designs from concept through to fabrication and installation
• Resolving design and fitment challenges proactively
• Working closely with workshop teams, installers, and project stakeholders

About You

We’re looking for someone who brings:

• Strong SolidWorks expertise (configurations, assemblies, drawings)
• Experience in mechanical design within a fabrication or manufacturing environment
• Solid understanding of sheet metal and production processes
• A cost-aware, commercially minded approach to design
• Confidence working across engineering, workshop, and site teams
• A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong ownership
